Mumbai police start a colour code system for vehicles since the city is still dealing with traffic congestion. Check out below how police have divided the colours amongst essential service providers.

Like the previous lockdown, Mumbai streets do not show the signs of closure making Mumbai police start a colour code system to identify essential services and decongest traffic.

The police have introduced a system where they have asked the essential services providers to self tag their vehicles. The tags are nothing but a six-inch circular sticker that needs to be stuck on the front and back of the vehicle.

According to the system, doctors, nurses and other medical staff will be able to use red tags. Green colour has been assigned to the food suppliers including grocery, milk, etc. On the other hand, vehicles with essential services employees will use yellow code. These employees include civic staff, press, etc.

Since it's easy to make and paste, the police have requested to self tag their vehicles. However, one can also take these stickers from nakabandi points and toll nakas free of cost.

Mumbai police have only been allowing essential service providers to enter the city due to spur in COVID cases.

The state government has imposed section 144 in the state till May 1.
