Rajasthan increased night curfew timings in eight cities by an hour

Previously, the timings for night curfew were 11 pm to 5 am. However, after the government of Rajasthan increased night curfew timings, it will now start at 10 pm.

As the surge in Coronavirus cases does not seem to stop, the government of Rajasthan increased night curfew timings by one hour in eight cities.

The eight most affected districts Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Sagwada (Dungarpur) and Kushalgarh (Banswara) were under the might curfew since last week.

However, the timings for the curfew was 11 pm to 5, but now the curfew will start from 10 pm. The urban markets in Rajasthan will close at 9 pm instead of 10 pm.

It was decided after a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation chaired by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot.

In addition to the eight cities, a night curfew will also be imposed in Chittorgarh and Abu Road, Sirohi.

Some places and events have been exempted from the curfew. These include IT companies, restaurants, chemist shops and offices of emergency services. Wedding ceremonies, transportation and travellers are also on the list.

The government has also directed for an intense checking in the state to implement the rules. It is also promoting 'No Mask, No Entry' in the state.

Moreover, the government, along with the district collectors, may decide to close education institutions shortly.

As of March 30, the total number of Coronavirus cases were 3,32, 243.
