Private airline SpiceJet honoured Sonu Sood by dedicating an aircraft livery making him the first Indian actor to make it to the livery of a domestic airline.
Paying a tribute to the real-life hero, who helped stranded migrants and students reach home through various efforts, an airline company, SpiceJet honoured Sonu Sood by unveiling a special livery dedicated to him.
The airline company featured an image of the Bollywood actor on its Boeing 737 aircraft as a tribute to his efforts. Sonu Sood had collaborated with SpiceJet in 2020 to help repatriate stranded Indians stuck outside the country.
During that time, Sonu Sood had helped 1,500 Indian students stuck in Kyrgyzstan reach India. Apart from that, hundreds of Indian nationals stuck in Russia, Uzbekistan, Manila, Almaty, and other countries could come back to India due to his volunteering.
SpiceJet had operated 1,500 flights to bring back 2.5 lakh Indian and foreign nationals stranded in different countries.
Sonu Sood reacted to the honour by saying that he remembers how he had come from Moga to Mumbai on an unreserved ticket. Under the 'Ghar Bhejo' campaign, the actor had helped migrant labours and Indian students reach their homes. He had also started a job portal to help those stranded workers find jobs.
Moreover, Sonu Sood had also started a food and ration drive called ‘Shakti Annadanam’ in Mumbai. Through, this initiative, more than 100000 workers were fed every week in Mumbai.
