The stall to promote local toys opened in Bengaluru at Channapatna railway station.
The number of initiatives that are being taken to promote the local art and craft of the country is, no doubt, a significant step towards the growth of the economy. On the same line, a stall to promote local toys opened in Bengaluru at Channapatna railway station.
Channapatna city, which is also known as the toy city of Karnataka, is popular for making handmade lacquer wooden toys. Hence, the display-cum-promotion centre has been opened at the railway station of Channapatna.
The location chosen for the promotion will help to create awareness about the local craft among train passengers, who travel through this route.
The initiative has been taken by the Bengaluru railway division along with Channapatna Toys' Artisans' Association. They have converted an abandoned place into a toy stall.
Stall to promote local toys will help artisans
The stall inaugurated on February 15 will help local artisans by engaging them in the manufacturing of toys at the stall.
To applaud the great cause, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter to share his thoughts. “Towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Railways displays indigenous toys and handicrafts at Channapatna station in Karnataka. This will promote local toy manufacturing cluster,” he tweeted.
The similar initiative will also be taken at Yeshwantpur station in the coming future.
