Bollywood Art Project aims to bring stars to the streets, one mural at a time

Mumbai is not only the financial capital but also home to one of the biggest movie industry. Yes, we are talking about our very own Bollywood. Be it the film city, the crazy audience packed multiplexes, or the fact that almost all the B-town folks reside in the city. Mumbai has accepted, appreciated, and loved Bollywood like no one else. And to express his gratitude towards Bollywood, artist Ranjit Dahiya launched Bollywood Art Project.

Bollywood Art Project

Started in 2012, BAP is a way of bringing the magic of Bollywood to the streets of Mumbai. With murals of actors and characters, painted in traditional poster style, the walls of the Mumbai streets bring out emotions and nostalgia every Mumbaikar can relate.

Bollywood Art Project

One of the iconic pieces painted by the Bollywood Art Project is the mural of Amitabh Bachchan. Picking the character from his film Deewar, the 203 ft. tall mural covers an entire face of a building in Bandra.

One of their recent project by BAP is a tribute to late actor Irfaan Khan. Painted at a residential colony in Varoda Road Bandra, this mural took three days to finish. Despite the lockdown, Ranjit Dahiya started the work on the evening of the actor's demise and captured his persona in the most beautiful way.

Bollywood Art Project

Ranjit has been working on the Bollywood Art Project for 8 years now and brought life to some amazing characters and actors through paints. From Sridevi, Sachin Tendulkar to Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, this project has captured the heart and soul of our favourite celebrities.
