A Sunday morning well spent at @santespacuisine . Back stretches for the working professional and lots of food talk over a Sante breakfast spread. Missed three of our registrants from Mumbai who got delayed due to unforeseen rain congestion on the expressway today . Most importantly each participant today has contributed to a cause. Project Sambandh by @vembushankar for army widows and their children is doing a praiseworthy job. Today’s efforts go to educating one girl child of an army widow for one year. Thank you to each one who participated. @sonalbarmecha64 thank you for the hospitality as always. #sundaymorningspecial . . Evening snack at The French Window Patisserie Koregaon Park A beautifully designed space tucked at the end of one of the lanes of Koregaon Park. This patisserie is the perfect place to go for a nice brunch or evening meet up. Ordered the chocolate mousse which was incredibly fresh. Also ordered a 'gluten free' pasta. The food was a treat for the palate. A few things which could use some improvements are the portion size of the pasta, which didn't do justice to the price. Second was the issue of mentioning a dish as vegan. I've noticed this in a lot of cafés, very few places understand the meaning of calling a dish vegan or dairy free or sugar free. I have been frequenting cafes and restaurants with one question – whether or not they have a vegan or gluten free menu because I am following a gluten and dairy free diet out of preference. I cannot emphasis more on the fact that the chefs, managers and servers need to understand what it means to call a dish vegan, it means that someone asking for a vegan dish could possibly have an allergy to gluten and if the word vegan or gluten free is used casually, it can actually lead to a medical emergency. Our server here, was unfortunately not aware that wheat had gluten. But the experience was very pleasant and definitely calls for another trip. The Vohuman Cafe, Sassoon Road

Pune is famous for its abundant Irani Cafes but this one has some kind of unique charm to itself that is safeguarded by the locals of the city. Vohuman manages to make something extraordinary of something as simple as a cheese omelette special. Their secret: a humongous chunk of cheese goes into every omelette and a slab in every cheese toast. Its simplicity is what makes it special and would make you want you to stuff yourself so much that you will end up delaying your lunch.
